Care and Cleaning

4 Tips for the Care and Cleaning of your new AnoOne.com T-shirt

So you've just received your cool new AnoOne.com t-shirt in the mail and can't wait to wear it.  Well, the first thing to know is that all of our shirts come pre-washed so you'll be able to wear your new tee shirt right out of the package.

Now, like most people, you've probably owned a number of tees in the past and, while they always start off all bright and colorful, you've probably noticed how they all tend to fade in time.  The bad news is that all t-shirts will eventually fade from enough washing.  There is no way around that -- but, if you're careful with your cleaning and care, you'll be able to preserve your AnoOne.com t-shirt's colors and clarity for a long time to come.

1. Avoid high temperatures while washing or drying
The first thing I want to talk about is that most cotton tees come pre-shrunk.  What this means is that the t-shirt has already gone through a washing and drying process and the material will not experience any sort of drastic size change when you wash and dry it.  That being said, if you aren't careful even a pre-shrunk cotton shirt will still shrink a small amount if you wash or dry it at a hot temperature.  The key to preventing your new shirt from shrinking is to avoid washing or drying at the higher temperatures.  Make sure to wash in a medium or cool temperature to avoid shrinkage.

2. Wash your t-shirts inside out
As I mentioned earlier, all t-shirts fade.  This is because the washing and drying processes causes friction and rubbing on the printed portion of the tee, especially when placed in with harsher material clothing such as denim.  That being said, a good quality t-shirt should resist fading for at least 35-40 washes.  The best way to extend the life of your tees even more is to wash and dry them inside out.  The softer material of your t-shirt will protect the printed image.  I'd also suggest only washing your shirts with other delicate materials to prevent excess rubbing.

3. Never use bleach
This should be a common sense item.  Never use bleach on any printed or colored items or you will experience a drastic amount of fading.

4.  Hang dry
In this day and age of fast-fast-fast, it may sound a bit crazy to suggest not using a modern appliance to dry your new t-shirt.  However, if you want to give your tees the best chance possible at a long life, then take them out of the washer and hang them dry.  This will not only protect the printed portion of your shirts, but will also preserve the rich colors of the shirts themselves.

If you follow these tips on the care and cleaning of your new AnoOne.com Tees and T-shirts, you will be able to continue to enjoy their bright, vibrant colors for many years to come.
